Peter Heydasch

Director Sustainability and Advocacy, Packaging and Specialty Plastics EMEA, Dow Europe, Switzerland

Peter Heydasch is the Director of Sustainability and Advocacy EMEA for the Packaging and Specialty Plastics Business of The Dow Chemical Company. This international business group brings together a rich portfolio of expertise, technologies, products and services focusing on flexible and rigid food packaging, secondary and tertiary packaging, medical packaging and adhesive applications.

Heydasch joined Dow in 1990 in manufacturing at the Stade site in Germany, and worked in various leadership positions across manufacturing, sales and marketing serving a variety of businesses in Europe including Elastomers, Wire and Cable and Polyolefins. Since 2014 he has been responsible for strategic global accounts in food- and industrial packaging as corporate account executive. He was named in his current position in 2017. Central to Heydasch’s policy is collaborating with all value chain partners to promote and improve the sustainability value of plastic packaging. He will drive industry advocacy in the region through partnerships with industry partners, regulators and customers.

Peter has held different functions representing Dow in the plastics industry including the KVS, the Plastics Association for Switzerland, and BKV in Germany, which represents plastics producers and plastics converters and provides the industry with data, facts and concepts regarding resource efficiency and plastics recycling. Since 2014 Peter is member of the board of BKV.

A graduate of Reutlingen University of Applied Sciences, Peter holds a bachelor degree in Applied & Polymer Chemistry.
