Giovanni Cassuti, 49, is Vice President of the Polyehylene Business Unit at Versalis. 

In this capacity, Giovanni reports to Versalis’ CEO and plays a pivotal role in the company strategic plan having the responsibility for 1.7bn euro turnover. 

He has joined the chemical industry gaining experience in various different operating roles after a period spent within university research and consulting. 

After his experience within the Cattolica University of Milan and Southampton University and the IRS (Social Research Institute) of Milan, Giovanni joined Enichem holding offices of administration, finance and control at the Hungarian headquarters, until being finally assigned the post of Financial Manager and HR Manager of the sister company Dunastyr. 

He has also spent a fair amount of time at the Hythe UK headquarters.

Giovanni has also served as Managing Director of Dunastyr in Hungary, the operating branch of the then Polimeri Europa with the direct control of two polystyrene plants and various different commercial branches and agencies throughout Eastern Europe. In particular, he has been in the Board of Directors of Polimeri Europa Polska and Polimeri Europa Norden.

Valued for the expertise he has been able to develop across diverse business areas, Giovanni  has been later appointed Sales Manager for all polymers and elastomers of Polimeri Europa SpA (now Versalis). 

He holds a Ph.D. in economics and a Master of Science in economics and econometrics.
