Yağmur Cengiz was born
in Istanbul in 1987. She has an undergraduate degree in Environmental
Engineering from Trakya University, and a master's degree in Industrial
Engineering from Yıldız Technical University. During her final year in
university, she worked on water analyses, wastewater treatment and reactors as
a student assistant. Cengiz has been an advisor to a range of industries
from defense to leather on subjects including solid waste management,
recycling, and industrial waste management. She joined the Turkish
Plastics Industry Foundation (PAGEV) as a technical specialist in 2012, and is
currently the General Manager of PAGÇEV, the National Packaging Waste Recycling
Enterprise of PAGEV authorized by the Ministry of Environment and
Urbanisation. Cengiz is actively involved in the public relations of the
Foundation as well as environmental awareness and social responsibility issues,
particularly environment and recycling education for students and homemakers,
informing industrial companies about their environmental responsibilities, and
organizing the recycling of packaging waste generated by industrial companies.
