Business Development Manager Recycling, TOTAL, Belgium
Herman Van Roost studied at the University of Leuven (KUL)
and holds a Civil Engineering degree in Electro Mechanics and Energy
Conversion.
From 1980 to 1996 he worked in the Antwerp petrochemical industry, for Exxon
Chemical in engineering and for PetroFina as Maintenance Manager and Plant
Manager.
Between 1996 and 2013 he occupied several business management positions, in the
fields of Polyethylene, Elastomers and Base Chemicals. He was active in Total’s
industrial JV strategy deployment, around Total’s main Antwerp site and in new
projects in the Middle East.
Since 2014 Herman Van Roost returned to Total’s Polymers department as Business
Development Manager Recycling, launching Total’s activity in the circular
economy for plastics with the recently introduced ‘Circular Compounds’. In this
position, he participates to the world of plastic waste and recycling as
President of Plarebel and as board member of FostPlus and ValorPlast.
