Role at the Foundation
Rob Opsomer is leading the New Plastics Economy initiative,
an ambitious, three-year initiative to build momentum towards a plastics system
that works. Applying the principles of the circular economy, the initiative
brings together key stakeholders to re-think and re-design the future of
plastics, starting with packaging. Prior to the New Plastics Economy
initiative, Rob led Project MainStream, and was the project manager for "Delivering the circular
economy – a toolkit for policymakers".
Background
Before arriving at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Rob worked for five
years as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he was an
Engagement Manager and focused on resource productivity and finance. A computer
scientist by training, Rob also holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of
Management, where he focused on finance and sustainability.
