Dr Karlheinz
Hausmann, Research and Technology Fellow with DuPont
de Nemours
International Sàrl is holding a doctoral degree in Material
Science from the
Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in
Lausanne,
Switzerland and has more than 28 years
of experience in
ethylene
copolymers. He joined DuPont in 1987 in the W&C group in
Geneva, Switzerland
. From 1989-1991 he held a position as R&D
Engineer in DuPonts
ethylene copolymer business at EI DuPont de
Nemours Inc in
Wilmington , DE, USA.
In 1991 he moved back to DuPont in Geneva to work
Packaging and Industrial Business Unit.
Here he had a
number of R&D and Technical and Market Development
assignments including packaging, polymer modification,
cosmetic packaging and automotive applications. Currently he is
part of
the DuPont
Performance Materials Technical R&D
Organisation in
Meyrin Switzerland and specialist for polymer
modification and Compatibilization
and recycling.
As Sustainability
technology leader he is conducting
sustainable
packaging polymer and packaging developments developing
new packaging
concepts including renewable type of solutions. In this
function he is also
heavily involved in novel coex-bi orientation
processing
technologies and packaging concepts for meat packaging
using coextrudable
adhesives and Ionomer resins.
In this function he
is also representing DuPont in various industry
Organisations and
working groups.
He is one of the
recipients of the 2014 Pedersen Awards.
