Sustainability Director, Flexible Packaging Europe
Graham’s services as Sustainability Director were retained by FPE in
March 2011 after a career spanning 24 years with Unilever. During that
period he was based in 3 countries with a wide range of responsibilities
including: R&D, Packaging management and design, Supply chain
restructuring, Sustainability and CSR.
He has an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and has also attended
the Cambridge University: Prince of Wales Business & the
Environment Programme.
Graham has a proven track record of managing innovative packaging
projects both of a strategic and of an operational nature in over 20
countries spanning 6 continents including: the design/launch/rollout of
pyramid teabags across Europe, Asia and South Africa, several new global
packaging formats for household cleaning products, a soy based beverage
and a range of "brainfood” packaging.
In his global Unilever packaging director role and current role, Graham
has, for the last 15 years, championed the development of sustainable
business principles in the packaging industry in both Europe and the US.
He is recognised as one of the industry thought leaders for sustainable
packaging and is one of the 13 founding members of the Sustainable
Packaging Coalition (SPC). Graham has been a board member both of the
SPC Executive and of the EUROPEN Executive (the European packaging
industry association in Brussels).
He is also the Principle Director of SLOOP Consulting B.V. offering
consulting services and tools like PIQET (LCA) and Redipoint (EPR) in
the field of packaging sustainability to brand owners, retailers and
primary packaging material producers.
