Michael Scriba studied for his doctorate in European company law at Muenster, Hannover, Montreal, Brussels and London. Originally an international company lawyer, he joined DSD (German green dot company) in 1991 as chief legal advisor and became managing director of DKR in 1993. In that position he helped in building up the ground-breaking plastics recycling system for packaging in Germany. 

In 2001 he became Managing Partner of the purus Group which he restructured and partly took over in 2003 in a MBO with another partner. Scriba headed the German Plastics Recyclers Association (BVSE - FV Kunststoffrecycling) for several years before he agreed to set up a mixed plastics recyclers working group within EUPR in January 2011. 

He is 53 and lives in Bayreuth/Germany with his wife and three children.
